Improve your Typography – 20 Exceptional Free Fonts

There is an old saying: “Give a dog an ill name and he’ll soon be hanged”. Transposing this wisdom to the field of website design, it is possible to say that the success/failure of a particular site is predefined by a number of factors, including a domain name, page layout, and even font, chosen for displaying the text on it. Use some dull font on your website, and it will successfully push your site into the myriad of faceless and monotonous sites in the web.

Creating Fancy Checkmark Icons with Pure CSS3

I was recently working on a personal project where I wanted to implement some cool “checkmark” icons like you see at left to spice up my unordered lists. Webitect Redesigned!

Unless you missed your coffee this morning, you’ve hopefully already noticed that Webitect has been outfitted with a fresh new theme design! Over the past few months I’ve watched a whole barrage of new blog designs (Design Informer, MyInkBlog, JankoAtWarpSpeed, Hongkiat, Tuts+, Visual Swirl) come out, all of which served to repetitively remind me that the Webitect theme was sadly lacking.

Well, no more! With this fresher and more optimized theme, I’m sure that Webitect will be a much more enjoyable place to be (even if it’s not so stunning as some of the blogs I listed above). In this post, I’m going to take you through the process of the redesign and show you around the new theme.
