20+ HDR Photographs that Make the Ordinary Look Extraordinary
High Dynamic Range, or HDR, photography is an amazing form of art that creates a mix between realism and illusion. When we view ordinary things in HDR — it’s almost as if we’ve never seen them before at all.

August 5th, 2009 at 09:48 pmI love some of those shots! Being a big photography buff, I really appreciate some of the post-processing work that went into some of those images. Especially the night shot. It totally didn’t occur to me to try to create a a night-time HDR shot.
Thanks for posting. Now I have to go dig out my camera and stand.

August 6th, 2009 at 07:25 amHow did you get the image of the dog to work, it looks like it’s moving. I thought HDR had to use tripod or at least be very still to bracket capture?
The colours in the Mazda image are just beautiful…

August 8th, 2009 at 06:56 amThese effects are very cool but I think it’s a bit sad that photographers barely care about the composition any more, anyone could have taken these images, if you just own the right techniques, so I don’t really think this is good photography. Cool though.

August 10th, 2009 at 07:35 amWow, some great use of HDR in this collection. I think ‘Dog’ and ‘Bridge’ are probably my favorites but to be honest pretty much all of them are superb!

August 16th, 2009 at 07:00 pmAmazing use of light. I really loved the image with the Chuck Taylors it captured a feel of life and passion. Your use of imagery tells amazing stories, each and everyone of them.

January 10th, 2010 at 05:04 pmYeah, I’d have to agree with Anton here. I don’t think any of these really demonstrate good composition and I would say hike the contrast too high. I’ve seen great HDR photos, but these don’t seem to be succeeding as photography or as illustration…kind of stuck in the middle but doing neither one well.
